Having a child is a joyous moment for everyone. However, what would you do if there is complication in the newly-born after birth? How many people in India can afford to give world class health care to their new-born baby
with the limited income they have?
Lack of healthcare for the under-privileged poses a severe impediment to the development of a productive economy. India accounts for one-fourth of the global infant deaths. To make matters worse, two-third of women do not receive care on the eve of pregnancy. Even scores of schoolchildren miss their schools or dropout owing to ill health or inaccessible health services.

Such humanitarian emergency could be addressed only by a committed organization that can provide proper healthcare to mother, children, and the newborn, with a thrust for a long-term solution. With this vision, NICE Foundation was born, registered in 2002 as a Public Charitable Trust.
